In this sermon we look at Deborah and Jael from the book of Judges. These two women overcome great odds to rescue a nation. Journey Kenya 2012 Missions Trip will be departing in December around Christmas break. We WILL NOT know the exact days until we get closer to this fall. During this trip we will be working on the construction of a hospital that we had the opportunity last year to help in the laying of it’s foundation. We will also be helping at the Living Way Orphanage, and any other way we can be put to good use in serving Gospel Believers Fellowship in Bungoma, Kenya. If there is any extra time there may be opportunity for visiting some tourist sites at an additional cost to those who choose to participate. For more info contact the church office.

Starting Monday July 09th will be an 8 week study from David Platt’s book Radical.

What does it mean to be a 1st century follower? Is it any different than being a follower in the 21st century? The radical things Jesus said 2000 years ago still apply to Christians today. Denying ourselves, giving up everything, and loving Him above all others is a radically different way to live. But it is the only way to truly live. We were created for more than a middle class existence. We were meant to count for His glory.

The Bible Study

Life Bible Study is offering an 8-lesson curriculum to complement Radical. It’s designed for easy group facilitation.

Radical: The Bible Study will include:

• 8 Bible study lessons which correspond to the 8 book chapters of Radical

• Challenging lessons to help believers put the book’s concepts into practice

• Each lesson includes commentary, teaching plans, discussion questions, and more

Each group member will need a copy of Radical.

Be Encouraged

Joseph was known as a good man, full of the Spirit, strong in faith, and a tremendous giver... 4 great qualities that any Christian would be more than happy to be known by, yet none of these qualities defined Joseph quite like another quality he was known for... his ability to encourage others. He was so well known for being an encourager that his spiritual leaders, the Apostles, nicknamed him Barnabas. We can learn a lot from a nickname, but can we live up to a nickname?

Seeking Real Treasure

Jesus was someone that Mary Magdalene had treasured. So on Easter morning she went seeking Jesus dead body and instead what she found was a place of emptiness... an empty tomb. People often seek after dead treasures in life and it leads them to the same place it led Mary... to a place of emptiness. If we will follow the path of the disciple John on Easter, that same place of emptiness, can lead us to belief. The empty tomb of Easter reveals the Greatest of all Treasures!
